METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Description of Dataset
This dataset contains microbial community composition data associated with samples collected from the Clifton Integrated Constructed Wetland (ICW) during 2025.

The dataset includes sequencing-derived microbial taxonomic composition data used to investigate:

* microbial community structure,
* microbial diversity,
* nutrient cycling communities,
* and microbial contributions to wetland treatment processes.

The dataset contributes to the investigation of biogeochemical and microbial mechanisms associated with nutrient transformation and wastewater treatment performance within integrated constructed wetlands.

Description of Data Collection
Environmental samples were collected from designated monitoring locations within the treatment wetland system.

Samples may include:

* sediment samples,
* water samples,
* biofilm samples,
* or associated environmental matrices.

Microbial community composition data were generated through sequencing-based microbial analysis.

Analytical Methods

Microbial Community Analysis
Microbial community composition was analysed using sequencing-based taxonomic profiling methods.

Sequence processing and taxonomic assignment procedures were used to identify microbial taxa and estimate relative abundance.

The dataset contains microbial species composition and associated abundance information derived from processed sequencing outputs.

Taxonomic Analysis
Taxonomic classification was undertaken using reference databases and bioinformatics processing workflows where applicable.

Outputs may include:

* taxonomic identifiers,
* species-level classifications,
* relative abundance values,
* operational taxonomic units (OTUs),
* or amplicon sequence variants (ASVs).

Experimental Conditions
Samples were collected under operational full-scale wastewater treatment wetland conditions during 2025.

Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC)

* Sample collection procedures were standardised across sampling locations.
* Sequencing data were quality filtered prior to analysis.
* Taxonomic assignments were checked during bioinformatics processing.
* Data formatting and processing were verified prior to downstream analysis.
* Missing values were retained as blank cells where applicable.
